Nearly 50 years of global division comes with a ton of history. But, I have some good news. You don’t really have to know that much here! There are a ton of examples, ideas, events, people, wars, conflicts, etc. But, the College Board wants you to just know the main ideas of the Cold War here. So, don’t get too bogged down with parallels and U2 bombers. Instead, make sure you understand the causes behind the Cold War and the THREE sides (US, USSR, & Non-Aligned). The next section will delve more into the effects and outcomes of the Cold War.
